Accounts Administrator
Main role purpose:
Support the function of the accounting team with day-to-day operations. The successful candidate will possess exceptional organisational and time management skills, and experience working successfully in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities will include maintaining daily worksheets and general ledger system, maintain and complete files and records as needed and provide general administrative support to the management team and accounting department personnel. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong attention to detail. This role has a view to progress with more responsibilities within the purchase ledger, sales ledger and general ledger.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process bills for payment
- Check and process vendor invoices – liaising with other departments to get invoices approved for payment
- Maintain files and electronic records; tracking project costs and timings
- Perform administrative tasks, filing delivery notes and supplier invoices
- Update and maintain supplier database
- Track and resolve accounting problems and discrepancies as needed
- Manage the accounts/ admin inbox
- Processing staff expenses
- Telephone reception cover support
Essential:
- Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Accurate data entry
- Strong analytic skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and prioritisation skills
- Ability to cope at times of extreme pressure and use own initiative to resolve day to day issues
- Professional phone etiquette
Desirable:
- Experience working within a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Either AAT qualified, hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Business
