CNC Programmer

To operate and maintain CNC machinery to manufacture high-quality door components to precise specifications. The CNC Operative will ensure efficient production, accuracy, and consistency while maintaining a safe and organised work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC routers and machining centres used in the manufacture of timber components.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD/CAM programs, and job specifications.
  • Set up machines, load materials, and monitor production to ensure output meets quality and dimensional standards.
  • Adjust machine settings and tooling as required to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform regular quality checks using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Carry out basic machine maintenance and report any mechanical or software issues promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with production and operational teams to resolve manufacturing issues and optimise processes.
  • Maintain accurate production records and ensure traceability of parts.
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe handling of materials.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and uphold a clean, organised workspace.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment (experience in door or joinery production preferred).
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and CNC programs
  • Competent in measuring and inspecting finished parts to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • CNC programming or machining certification (desirable but not essential).
  • Health & Safety awareness training (advantageous).

Working Conditions:

  • Factory-based role with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.

Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour

Working Hours:

13.45 – 23.45 | Monday to Thursday

13.45 – 18.15 | Friday
