Rural Grant Boosts Dorplan’s Production Capacity
This Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Rural Business Capital project is part-funded by the UK Government through the Rural England Prosperity Fund, was supported by the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk and delivered in Partnership with Norfolk County Council.
The support from Rural business grant has given the Dorplan and its stakeholders very valuable support to enable its production capacity to expand again further. The company started producing door blanks to bespoke sizes in May 2023 and has outgrown it’s machine capacity within a year. The new press has the capability to press three doors at a time instead of one as the previous press could. The addition of a further 5 axis CNC machine to add to our fleet is boosting our capacity to offer an accelerated manufacturing service and will specifically used to spearhead the machining of doors for the replacement fire door market.
The Rural Fund supports the aims of the government’s White Paper and Future Farming Programme. It funds capital projects for small businesses and community infrastructure. This will help to improve productivity and strengthen the rural economy and rural communities.
